Colourful Easter Markets in Vienna
#1 Old Viennese Easter Market on Freyung Square
The Easter counterpart to the traditional Old Viennese Christmas Market on the historic market square in the centre of Vienna has become an institution in its own right. After all, who wouldn't want to marvel at the largest mountain of eggs in Europe? There are also lots of beautifully decorated eggs to take home, as well as many (Easter) handicrafts from Austria and neighbouring countries.
For the little ones, there is a puppet show in the mornings!
- Open: 3 – 21 April 2025
- Daily from 10.00 am – 8.00 pm
- Children's programme & live music

#2 Schönbrunn Palace Easter Market
The giant eggs give it away from afar: the Easter market is open again in front of Schönbrunn Palace. Around 60 exhibitors offer delicious sweets, Easter decorations, handicrafts and toys. There are traditional dishes such as stuffed dumplings with Easter ham, but vegetarians and vegans will also have plenty to choose from. Younger guests will love the carousel or crafting in the Easter bunny workshop.
Henriette's tip: After visiting the market, take a walk through Schönbrunn Palace Park and immerse yourself in the lush spring greenery.
- Open: 27 March – 21 April 2025
- Monday to Thursday, Sunday (excl. Easter Sunday): 10.00 am – 7.00 pm
- Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday: 10.00 am – 9.00 pm
- Straw labyrinth, nostalgic carousel, Ferris wheel, boules courts, and a small railway

#3 Easter at Hirschstetten Flower Gardens
The gardens of the Hirschstetten Flower Gardens are not on the classic tourist routes, but are definitely worth a visit. 70,000 spring flowers have been planted for spring 2024 alone! At the annual Easter market, you will find many regional culinary delicacies as well as artistic Easter items such as hand-painted eggs and traditional Easter candles. The children's programme is particularly colourful; the Hirschstetten Zoo, also located in the flower gardens, is another highlight for all ages.
You can reach the flower gardens from the Stadthotel Henriette in approx. 30 minutes by public transport: Underground line U1 to Kagraner Platz, tram line 26 to Spargelfeldstraße
- Open: 3 – 6 and 10 – 13 April 2025
- Daily from 9.00 am – 6.00 pm

#4 Am Hof Easter Market
Not far from the Old Viennese Easter Market on the Freyung and also in the heart of the city is the Easter Market Am Hof. With its artistically decorated eggs and flower arrangements, it is fully dedicated to Easter customs. Traditional arts and crafts also meet young design, creative and tasty gift ideas, which you can of course also sample on site.
When the weather is nice, the Easter market Am Hof is of course the perfect starting or ending point for a stroll through Vienna's city centre.
- Open: 4 – 21 April 2025
- Monday to Thursday: 11.00 am – 8.00 pm (lock-up time 9.00 pm)
- Friday to Sunday and holidays: 10.00 am – 8.00 pm (lock-up time 9.00 pm)
