Wait – shouldn't that be the other way around? No, you read that right! Of course we love the recognition when you congratulate us on the awards that Henriette has won. But the real winners are you. This is an award that makes us so proud and is perhaps the most important of all awards because it reflects how our guests truly feel: the TRIPADVISOR TRAVELLERS' CHOICE AWARD.
In 2024, we were once again among the top 10% of favourite hotels WORLDWIDE! For years, the Henriette (which went by the name Das Capri until 2021) found itself around place 10 among Tripadvisor's hotels in Vienna – meaning we have been among the city's top 5% hotels for quite some time. In 2022, Henriette broke into the TOP 10 – help us become one of the top 5!
Do you know what TRIGOS* means? No? We admit – when we applied, we also didn't know what it meant. But we knew that it was perhaps the most prestigious award for responsible business that Austria has to offer. And with our »Mission Microplastic«, we thought it was just the award for us!
The jury, consisting of representatives from the TRIGOS sponsoring organizations and experts from science and business, shared this sentiment and awarded us the TRIGOS 2024 in the category of "Best Practice Projects"!
*TRIGOS is a coined term. "Tri" stands for "three" and symbolises the three sides of the sustainability triangle: economic, ecological, and social.
Working against plastic and chemicals: In November 2023, our forward-thinkers Verena and Georg were awarded the Environmental Management Award from Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler in the category "Best measure for climate and environmental protection" for our work in water protection – specifically, for the fact we do not use synthetic fibres in bed linen and for our use of micro dry steam cleaning.
This award is given jointly by the Austrian and German Federal Environment Ministries. It honours companies and organisations for their outstanding achievements in environmental and climate protection, sustainable corporate management and environmental communication.
The SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY AWARD by 101 BEST and powered by Kampmann was first given in 2023 at the Future Hospitality Days – and was awarded to Henriette Stadthotel Vienna! As the first and only hotel in Vienna with a Common Good Balance Sheet, Henriette wowed the jury made of experts from the hospitality branch with our comprehensive and innovative concept for ecological, social and economical sustainability in a city hotel.
40 companies from the hotel and tourism branch applied. These companies do pioneering work with their commitment to sustainability and set a benchmark in the industry with their innovative concepts.
The 360° AWARD is presented by the Economy for the Common Good Austria and recognises companies that, through their initiatives over many years, have made a significant, positive impact on sustainability. Winning this award, particularly in our passion category Employees, is a true honour. Because:
Unlike many other sustainability awards, one cannot apply for the 360° AWARD; instead, companies are selected by a jury and invited to receive the award. In addition to exceptional achievements in one of the stakeholder categories of the Common Good Matrix, all other areas of the company must also be positively evaluated.
The BEZIRKS BUSINESS AWARD showcases the best companies in every district in Vienna. The special thing about this award is that it is not given by a jury, but readers of the Wiener Bezirksblatt – the most widely read local newspaper in Vienna.
Every year, more than 100,000 people vote in Vienna's largest public vote! We were honoured with this award in 2020 (as we were still known as "Das Capri") and in 2023 Henriette Stadthotel Vienna came in second place.
It was such a joy to be awarded Vienna's 2019 Environmental Award! This was the first time our commitment to the environment and sustainability, and our decision to be the first hotel in Vienna to follow the criteria of the Economy for the Common Good were officially recognised. What nice encouragement to continue to follow this path.
The jury stated: "This family-run hotel has devoted itself to sustainable business practices, paying particular attention to social aspects in dealing with employees, and to social responsibility. This allowed the hotel to reposition itself and increase the level of comfort for guests."
Since 2009 and on behalf of the business magazine BUSINESSART, over 50 CSR and sustainability experts have chosen the year's sustainable shapers as part of a multi-step process.
In 2019, Henriette's foward-thinkers Verena Brandtner-Pastuszyn and Georg Pastuszyn were awarded the coveted title "Sustainable Shaper 2019" in the category "Sustainable For Generations". Bold, mindful, effective.
