Sigi Finkel & 120,000 Henriette bees
What is the right hobby for a professional musician? Beekeeping, of course! Well, the hobby has now become a second profession for jazz saxophonist Sigi Finkel - and we are delighted to be working exclusively with him and his bees. :-)
Since June 2022, three bee colonies with around 40,000 bees each have been living on the roof of the hotel - Prater view included! Sigi comes by regularly to check on them and harvest the honey. You can then savour the sweet result at breakfast or take it home with you: Henriette's Viennese blossom honey from the roof is also available to buy in a small jar in the shop.

- The busy bees fly to flowers within a radius of 1 to 2 kilometres. The Grüner Prater is of course a particular favourite with the bees, but the large green areas of the Augarten and the Stadtpark are also within their flight radius.
Alt Wien Coffee
Since May 2021, we’ve been getting our coffee from the cult Viennese roastery Alt Wien run by artisan roasters Christian Schrödl & Oliver Götz. The head office and shop are located in Wieden, Vienna's 4th district, while the roastery has now moved to the 23rd district.
The beans are doubly certified, i.e. organic AND fairtrade. These two things are particularly important to Christian and Oliver: the cultivation of coffee without pesticides and chemical fertilisers as well as the traceability of the beans and thus the fair payment of all those involved in the coffee.

Sonnentor
"Everything must be in balance so that joy can grow." Sonnentor founder Johannes Gutmann is a pioneer when it comes to sustainable corporate culture. For example, he created the first common good balance sheet back in 2011.
The tea creations at Henriette are made from the best organic herbs, fruits and spices. They are blended in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria and come to us in organic and sustainable packaging.

Thum ham factory
The Thum family has been producing traditional Austrian ham specialities and meat products in Vienna for over 160 years. Roman and Jara Thum are continuing the life's work of their great-great-grandfather with a strong focus on quality and a tangible passion for the product.
By the way, you can also enjoy the legendary Thum ham roll outside of breakfast times with a glass of wine or Prosecco in the Thum ham bar in the centre of Vienna.

'Hasenfit' organic fruit juices
The Voglsam family is behind the delicious colourful juices with the bunny logo. Now in its third generation, they produce directly pressed fruit juices in Hofkirchen near St. Florian in Upper Austria. Their oxygen exclusion processing method is unique. Thanks to the special pressing system, the juices are produced without the addition of antioxidants.
The Voglsam family works almost exclusively with fruit growers from the region. This not only ensures the best quality through personal relationships and short transport routes, but also the continued existence of local orchards - an extremely important contribution to the preservation of biodiversity!
